Obituary Connie Sue Hagler Jones

In loving memory

Connie Sue Hagler Jones

“Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him.” — Psalm 62:5 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” — John 14:27 (KJV) Connie preserved words from this Scripture among her handwritten notes, leaving her family a tender reminder of the peace she sought in Christ.

With love, we remember and honor the life of

Connie Sue Hagler Jones Beloved wife, mother, “Granny,” and friend

June 28, 1964 – June 28, 2026

Connie’s Christian faith was reflected in her extraordinary generosity. She supported many Christian organizations, Camp Deer Run, and relief efforts following the flooding in Kerrville, Texas. Her compassion reached beyond her own family to people and communities in need. Connie had a curious mind and a love of learning, science, music, and nature. She studied at Harding University, worked in systems engineering and business analysis, and owned CSX Global. A gifted artist, she painted alongside Wyland and created artwork her family will cherish. She also participated in the MS 150. Her journals offer a treasured glimpse into her heart and faith. She wrote honestly to God about the suffering she saw in the world, recorded Scripture, and kept reminders of kindness and trust in Him. These pages leave her family a lasting connection to her thoughts, her compassion, and the faith that inspired her generosity. Connie’s journals reveal her thoughtful faith and concern for others. Alongside Scripture and personal prayers, she collected reminders to choose kindness and bring joy to someone each day. Her generosity reflected those values, leaving a lasting impression on the people and causes she supported. Among her favorite phrases was: “Every day—do a good deed that will put a smile of joy on someone’s face.” — Dale Carnegie, as recorded in Connie’s journal

Connie was preceded in death by her mother, Viola Christine Smith Hagler; her father, David Eugene Hagler; and her paternal grandparents, Donald Hagler and Dorothy Woodward.

She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Jones; her children, Christopher Blake, Cassandra Connor, and Tiffany Koch; and her grandchildren, Patricia Koch, William Koch, Ashton Blake, Angelina Koch, and Cameron Blake.

A private celebration of life will be held in her honor.

Those wishing to honor Connie’s memory may make a donation to Camp Deer Run, a ministry she generously supported during her life.

Our family is grateful for your prayers, kindness, and love as we remember Connie.

Forever loved and held close in our hearts.

Mom, thank you for being the most wonderful, kind, loving, and generous mother. I am so grateful to be your daughter. Your love and the countless ways you gave of yourself will stay with me always. I miss you more than words can say, and I will carry you in my heart for the rest of my life.

    I love you always,
    Tiffany

    Psalm 23 (KJV)

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.“

Granny, my favorite memories with you are going on the cruise and going to New York. I loved looking at coins and other things with you. I remember the special coin you gave me. You always told me you loved me, and I love you too. You were a great Granny. I miss you so much.

    Love,
    William

Grannie, I loved every moment we shared. I loved having dinner with you, drawing together, and going to Hobby Lobby to look at all the cute things and art supplies. We always had so much fun. I especially loved when you took me to camp and introduced me to your friend who worked with the horses. I loved going on the cruise with you, too.

I remember you showing me an art tool that pressed down, and we both thought it was so cool. I have so many wonderful memories with you, and these are just a few of my favorites.

Mom worked so hard to help you and make sure you were cared for. We love you so much.

You are the best Grannie ever, and I really wish you were here. I hope you’re having a wonderful time in heaven. I love you so much, and I look forward to seeing you again one day.

    Love,
    Patricia

Mom, I’ll always remember when you came down and told us you were going to help us get the back fence. That made me so happy and excited. You had such a generous heart.

My favorite coffee mug is the one you gave me that says, “I know stuff and I fix things.” It makes me think of you asking, “Can you help me with this? Can you fix this?” Those little things make me smile.

And when you let me drive your Maserati, I knew right then I was destined to drive a sports car! I loved hearing your stories, too. You always had a good one to tell me.

I’ll always remember our time at Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine and on the cruise. I’m grateful for those memories with you.

    I miss you, Mom.

    Love,
    Dillon

To Connie's family: words cannot come close to expressing my condolences to you. It is still surreal to me that she is gone, and I KNOW it has left a huge hole in your lives. But her Journey is complete, she is home now with Jesus, the source of perfect Love and peace! And through Him, you will see her again! I hope that brings some comfort to you. Connie was a good friend. We had some good times together over the years! A summer at Camp Deer Run, a year at Harding as roommates, and a year later in life when we reconnected. She was fun, caring and just a little mischievous . Like Ed and Francine said, I am looking forward to seeing her at the the Camp Deer Run reunion in Heaven someday!

I’m just blown away to be seeing this….

Connie and I grew up together, we lived down street from each other, and went to school together. We spent a summer together in Lufkin one year.

I remember her for her artwork and dancing. The one thing she cherished the most were her kiddos.

RIP my friend, fly high with the angels.
