For she is a reflection of eternal light, a spotless mirror of the working God, and an image of his goodness -Wisdom 7:26 RSV.

Linda VanBuskirk, beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on Monday, October 12, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, with her family by her side.

Linda VanBuskirk Meurer

Linda was born to Joe Clarence (JC) and Roxanne (Roxie) Virginia in Austin, Texas, and attended Crocket High School. She was a feisty, protective, and loving older sister and an amazing mother, wife, and friend. Linda learned to ride a bicycle on a gravel road, and she continuously overcame seemingly insurmountable obstacles like a late-in-life college degree with a 4.0 GPA. Linda was a voracious reader who instilled that love in her daughter. Her warm presence and caring nature left a mark on all who knew her. She led by example working hard her entire life. Her passions included dancing and traveling with John, knitting and crocheting baby blankets for friends and family; she also knitted items to donate to Dallas Scottish Rite Hospital and Dallas Veterans Hospital and taught others this beautiful craft. Linda was enthusiastically active in St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church as a long-time head of the altar guild, a lector, helping with the pillow case project for homeless youths, and assembling blessing bags at The Cathedral of Hope with other St. Thomas members. Linda's kindness and infectious laugh allowed her to make friends everywhere she went, and as we say goodbye to Linda, we celebrate the life of a woman who was filled with kindness and love. Linda's legacy is one of devotion to her husband, John and her family, a testament to the beautiful life she lived, and the countless lives she touched. Linda's memory will be treasured forever, as we hold her close in our hearts and remember the light she brought into our little piece of the world.

Linda was preceded in death by her grandmother, Edna Gattis; her mother, Roxie Meurer; her older brother, Danny Meurer; her younger brother, Scott Meurer; and her aunt and uncle, Tootsie and Clay Garrison.

Linda is survived by her 101-year-old father, JC Meurer; her devoted husband, John VanBuskirk; her brother, Ricky Meurer; her sister, Jeanie Martin, and Jeanie's husband, Jeff Martin; her cherished daughter, Melissa Fasolino, and son-in-law, Ken Fasolino; her grandsons, Dalton Fasolino and Alex Fasolino, Alex's wife, Rileagh, and their children, Lane, Guinevere, and Emmett; her stepdaughter, Dani VanBuskirk; her niece, Renee Anderson, and family; her nephew, Micah Meurer, and family; Keith Garrison and family, and her beloved lap cat, Tinker.

Linda will be interred at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Dallas, TX, on Saturday, October 31st, 2026, at 10:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Thomas Episcopal Church would be most welcome.
