Corey D. Hardy, age 51, departed this life on November 14th, 2025, at his home in South Carolina. Corey D. Hardy was born on September 4th, 1974, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Tee Sanders and Mary Alice Hardy. Corey graduated from Elgin High School in Elgin, IL. Corey D. Hardy had several jobs during his young adulthood but realized he would be a strong asset to serve our country. Corey enlisted with a strong goal which he accomplished. Corey retired as a First Sergeant after serving our country for 23 years. Corey held several positions in the Army, which demonstrated the strong role model he was. Corey was ranked a First Sergeant, Drill Sergeant, Air Assault Soldier, and Ammunition Specialist. In his spare time, Corey enjoyed listening to and creating music recordings, collecting comic books and baseball cards. Corey enjoyed staying fit by working out daily and visiting and spending time with his childhood friends. He also enjoyed spending time at Jake’s Bar and Grill with his South Carolina friends. Corey was preceded in death by his Grandmother Alice Porter, Parents Tee Sanders and Mary Alice Hardy, Uncles Nathan Porter, William Sony Porter Jr., Clarence Porter, Jerry Porter, Walter Liewallyan Porter, and Lester Buster Porter and Nephew D’Andrea Curtis. He leaves to cherish his loving memory two brothers Prezel Hardy, and Nedrick Jeff Hardy, one sister Simone Hardy and five children Corey D. Hardy Jr., Celeste Smith, Christian Hodges, Gabrielle Hardy, and Kiyana Hardy. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and godchildren who loved him dearly and will truly miss him. Corey’s warmth, kind heart and willingness to help all, and positive spirit touched the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy of love for others, generosity and positive energy will continue to live through all who was blessed to know him.
