A Beloved Life Remembered

After a period of declining health, we say goodbye to

Leslie Bland

April 17, 1951 – September 4, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Leslie Bland. Born in North Vancouver April 17, 1951 to parents Danny and Catherine, and brother Garth. Les's love for horses was lifelong. She taught many adults and children how to ride. Les also had a career in nursing. Les had such a kind and caring spirit, she was always willing to lend a hand when she could. You would never find a better friend. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 5. In her later years sadly the disease started taking its tole on Les's body. Never did she ever complain, instead embraced every day with love and kindness. Les was happiest when she was home on her farm in Abbotsford with her flower gardens and animals. Les got her last wish the evening of September 4/26 where she passed away peacefully in her home. Left to mourn is her partner Bill Shannon, and his family that Les got to know over the years. Her friends Dianne and Paul, Dennis and Elana, Ed and Maggie, Betty and Pat, and her extended family in the horse community

Services will be private. The family invites friends to honor Leslie in their own way and keep the memories close.

In Leslie's honor, the family encourages friends to spend time with loved ones, share a meal, or help someone in need.

The family appreciates your love and support during this difficult time and asks for privacy in the days ahead.
