Celebrating a Beautiful Life
Life ends, love remains.
We celebrate the life of
Christian Michael Anastasi The world lost its brightest light, but heaven gained the sweetest angel.
September 23, 2013 – June 28, 2026
Christian Michael Anastasi, age 12, of Bradenton, Florida, tragically lost his life on June 28, 2026, as the result of a motor vehicle accident caused by an impaired driver. Born on September 23, 2013, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of John L. Anastasi and Kimberly Gantz. Christian is survived by his mother, Kimberly Gantz; his devoted sisters, Nichole (Mark) Burke of Ebensburg, Pennsylvania; Jessica Anastasi of Bellwood, Pennsylvania; Ava (Trevor) Matthews of Altoona, Pennsylvania; Serenity Anastasi of Altoona, Pennsylvania; and Madison Anastasi of Boalsburg, Pennsylvania. He also leaves behind his cherished nieces, Jourdan, Kaelyn, Marissa, and Hannah, and his nephew, Brayden, all of whom loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, John L. Anastasi; his paternal grandparents, Dr. John M. Anastasi and Bernice Wertz; his uncles, Barry Anastasi, Fred Baker, and Bill Baker; and his brother, Christopher Anastasi.
Christian had a smile that could brighten any room and a laugh that was impossible to forget. He embraced life with enthusiasm, and kindness. Whether he was playing basketball, reading comic books, or eagerly trying something new, Christian approached each day as a new adventure. He found happiness in life's simple pleasures, chasing lightning bugs on warm summer evenings, spending hours at the playground, and riding around in his sister's Jeep, he named "Bluey." Christian loved animals and dreamed of the day he would have a dog of his own. He had already chosen the perfect name, "Inkblot," insisting that it would be the dog's name no matter what color it was. It was a dream that reflected his playful spirit, wonderful imagination, and ability to make everyone around him smile. Christian dreamed of becoming a surgeon one day because he wanted to help people like his grandpa did. Even at such a young age, he possessed a compassionate heart and a kindness beyond his years.
Though his time on earth was far too short, the light he brought into the lives of others will continue to shine through every person who carries his memory forward. He will be loved always, remembered forever, and missed beyond words. Some people measure a life by its length but Christian's family measures his by the joy he gave, the laughter he inspired, and the love he shared. In just twelve years, he left a lifetime of memories. He will forever remain their little brother, their "Uncle Christian," and their greatest gift. In honoring Christian's memory, they ask others to make the responsible choice to never drive while impaired, so that no other family has to endure such an unimaginable loss.
