In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. — John 14:2

We celebrate the life of Edwina June Dennis (Shannon)

(Edwina) June Dennis Shannon/Junebug/Jed

06/08/1931 – 10/15/2026

June, lovingly known as “Junebug” and “Jed”, passed away on October 15, 2026 near Charlotte, NC. Born on June 8, 1931, June built a life marked by faith, service, and a genuine love for people. She was a graduate of Mountain Grove High School in her hometown of Mountain Grove, MO where she met her husband of over 63 years, Norman Dennis. Norman (Ned) would go on to serve in the army during the Korean War. Norman and June went with friends who eloped to be their witnesses and wound up eloping themselves, much to the chagrin of June’s family. June’s sweet Aunt Betty (deceased) help her keep her secret for a time. “Ned and Jed” had two children, Terry and Pam, and Ned was transferred to Little Rock, AR in 1961. June had a long and successful career in commercial banking in Little Rock and Bryant, AR. Even when June tried to retire, her bosses kept begging her to stay. Once retired, she was coerced back to a credit union where customers would wait in long lines, even though other agents were available, because they wanted a chance to speak with June. She was loved by so many. June and Norman and the family joined Parkview Christian Church in 1961 where the entire family sang in the choir and June taught Sunday school for over 50 years. She shared the love of Jesus wherever she went and after Norman’s and Terry’s passing, she came to live with her daughter, Pamela, in Charlotte, NC
