Christy Lynn Hobbs

November 12th, 1952 – October 16th, 2026

Christy Lynn Hobbs was born on November 12, 1952, in Newman Grove, Nebraska, and passed away on October 16, 2026, at the age of 73. She died peacefully with her children by her side. Chris will be remembered as a hardworking woman whose life was filled with love, laughter, and an abundance of energy. She spent several years working at UPS in Grand Island, Nebraska, before pursuing a new dream in her late 40s by returning to college to become a nurse. She dedicated herself to nursing until her retirement in 2019, always bringing her determination and caring spirit to everything she did. Above all else, Chris's greatest love was her family. Her three children and six grandchildren were her whole world, and she devoted her life to loving and caring for them. Her son Casey, who has Down syndrome, lived with her until she was no longer able to remain in her own home. Her love for her children was unwavering, and her family was at the heart of everything she did. Chris had a boundless energy and a hard time sitting still for very long. She was wonderfully goofy, loved to laugh, and knew how to have a good time. Her laughter was contagious, and her smile had a way of brightening the lives of those around her. Even as her disease took a toll on her body, her smile and laughter remained among the last beautiful parts of her spirit to shine through. Those who loved Chris will continue to find pieces of her in the everyday moments and simple joys of life: in flowers, spilled drinks, birds, audiobooks, beautiful skies, warm hugs, laughter, long walks, kettle corn, bulldogs, green tea, and the changing leaves of autumn. These little reminders will keep her spirit close, bringing smiles and memories of a woman who lived with love, found joy in the simplest things, and left an imprint on the hearts of those who knew her. Chris will be deeply missed and forever loved.
