Joan Ciardulli passed away from a heart attack on Thursday, October 30, 2026. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Dorothy and Albert Veling on July 14, 1955, and was one of eight daughters. She later married Thomas Ciardulli and relocated to Nogales, Arizona. One of her proudest moments was enrolling as a full-time student at Nogales High School at the age of 34 for the 1987-1988 academic year. She attended full-time and graduated with the Class of 1990.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, her parents, Dorothy and Albert, and her sisters, Sharon, Valerie, Mary, and Patricia.
She is survived by her sisters, Catherine, Donna, and Dorothy. She is also survived by her daughter, Ivy (Dean), her sons, Blaise and Antonio (Alicia), her grandchildren, Marco (TJ), Mateo, Gina, Dean Jr., Jonathen, Nadina, Brianna, Antonio, Ian, and Emiliano, and her great-grandchildren, Jonah, Aailyah, Aliviah, and Major.
As per her wishes, there will not be a service.
In the end, she had grit and fought very hard for her life. Her body just gave out. As a a final act of generosity, she donated her organs and her body to science.
