Gregory Keith Schroer

July 28th, 1956 – September 14th, 2026

Gregory Keith Schroer was born on July 28, 1956, in Evansville, Indiana. Gregory attended Bosse High School before enlisting is the United States Navy. Following his time serving in the Navy, he went on to become a commercial truck driver, providing him the opportunity to travel the country. After less than a decade on the road, Gregory was diagnosed with lymphoma, a battle which he would continue to fight until his passing.

Following his diagnosis, Gregory returned to Evansville, Indiana, where he worked locally driving a school bus, where he continued his life long battle with cancer, official retiring in 2020. Greg had a true passion for music and a natural gift for playing multiple instruments. Greg loved tinkering, collecting, and fixing just about anything. Whether it was antique clocks or bicycles, he always found joy in bringing old or broken items back to life. Family and friends will remember Gregory for his goofy personality, his strong faith in Jesus, and his devotion to doing what was best for others. Some of his most cherished memories included attending Isaac's basketball games, traveling with family, spending time with people he loved and reminiscing. Above all, Gregory valued his faith and was never afraid to spread the gospel, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the determination to never give up.

Gregory is survived by his sons, Isaac Schroer and Jason Simpson; daughter-in-law, Lindsay Schroer; grandchildren, Elyon, Micaiah, Haddon Schroer, and Savannah Simpson; nieces, Aydrien Cathcart and Brittney Schroer; and life partner, Rita Schroer. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, VerWayne and Mildred (Wallace) Schroer; siblings, Linda Sue, Ricky Lee and Mark Allen Schroer; son, Nathan Schroer; infant twin daughters, Ava and Gretta Schroer and his beloved dog, Cora.
